IT leadership and transformation
I have worked in IT since 2004, starting as a consultant, since then in corporate groups and mid-sized companies - as a department head, as a CIO, as a consultant. With passion and dedication, because the combination of technology, money and people still fascinates me.
What I am particularly good at:
IT operations and service management
Across various engagements: operations and service delivery for more than 340 sites, operations organisations of around 450 people spanning applications, infrastructure and support, building a global service desk, and a group-wide ITSM transformation with a governance framework based on COBIT. Certified as ITIL Expert and ITIL Service Manager.
IT cost control and sourcing
Up to 40 million euros of IT budget in direct responsibility, along with sourcing decisions and the building of a dependable cost baseline. The result: a management board that could say in one sentence what IT cost and what for - the basis for decisions that had previously stalled for want of a clear picture.
Transformation - technical and organisational
Change rarely succeeds on technology alone. I bring both together: target architecture on one side, roles, processes and accountabilities on the other. Cloud programmes, sourcing changes and the rebuilding of entire IT organisations - each carried to the point where the new state holds without a project team.
Leadership
Small teams and large departments, in line management and in projects, reporting up to board level. What matters to me is developing people rather than administering them - handing over responsibility early, learning from mistakes together, and moving people into roles they would not yet have trusted themselves with. That a team leader asked me for continued coaching after I had left - privately and at her own expense - says more about that than any reference letter.

How I work
Sparring as equals, and plain speaking - no slide battles. I say what I see, even when it is uncomfortable, and would rather work on the decision than on its presentation.
